Kennedy Turns One!

We had a birthday party for K at our house the Sunday before her birthday. My parents were there along with Grammy, Uncle Ray, Aunt Lori, Joshua, Justin and 3 families from church - the Kaali's, the Kaisers, and the Fosdicks. It was just the right size party for a 1 year old!

We got a little cake for K to dive into. However, although this picture looks like she is enjoying herself and munching on a lovely sliver of cake - this was not so much what happened. She didn't know what to think of this cake set before her. We pushed her hand in the frosting to get things rolling, but still she remained hesitant. She does not appear to be a cake lover. Nor does she seem to be overly fond of having cake all over her. But that's ok. She did eat some cake and we all stood around trying to get her to eat more only to finally give up and give her a bath and a bottle (which she much preferred!)
My parents got her this walking/riding toy and she was all smiles to get on it and push the buttons. She continues to love this toy. It's little plastic wheels get a lot of mileage in our kitchen and dining room.

Although gift opening time was somewhat chaotic with all the other kids around and Kennedy not sure about what was happening - she did seem to enjoy it. Here she is opening a gift from the Kaali-Nagy family.

Kennedy got lots of snuggles from her Grammy on this day (well actually, she often gets lots of snuggles from Grammy). It was cute that they matched!
