Summer Update #5 (July)

These pictures are from our trip to Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Our friends (The Kakacs) invited us to go along with them and their 2 nieces. Bryce Fosdick went with us too. Their house is on the lake and that is where we spent the whole week - on the lake. They had lots of toys. A boat, 2 jet skis, everything you could want to water ski, wake board, surf, etc... It was an amazing week. We had so much fun.
This is Maddie, Jack, Bryce, and Kaylee on the intertube. The kids loved tubing. Brian was good about driving the boat slower and steadilyer (I'm making us words here, work with me) for the younger kids, but once Bryce and his nieces, Lexi and Audrey got on, watch out. Bodies were flying! Thankfully no one got hurt.
Kennedy loved Missouri. She actually did really well being on the boat most of the days. Napping on the go and in a life vest a lot of time. She loves the water and it was warm, so she was a happy camper. Not too fond of sun screen applying though!
Here's Maddie and Jack on the dock where we stopped one evening to get Pizza Hut.
Maddie learned to wake board. They first taught her on the side of the boat off the boom. She learned that quickly actually, and really enjoyed it. I was so proud of her. Danny & I seriously thought she might chicken out, but she said she wanted to try it and she did. She wake boarded off the boom for 2 or 3 days and then she was off to try it from behind the boat. I thought for sure that would scare her, but she surprised us again and did great! She got up several times in the back of the boat! Our little wakeboarding princess!
Jackson tried to wake board as well. Again, I was impressed that he tried. With Jack the water was a little choppier to begin with and when Brian (in the pic with Jack) let go of the boom, it would jump a bit and Jack couldn't hold on. He tried it several times and then said, "I'm bored." So we knew he was done. He didn't want to try again. His favorite things were riding the Jet Ski at full speed with Daddy (I found out about the "full speed" part after the fact!) and riding on that intertube. Oh, and just swimming in the lake. Jack would have spent the whole week in the lake if he had the option. He was usually the last one out of the water each day! A definate water loving boy!
Here's Danny wake boarding. He did great with it. Although he did wipe out pretty good on the last day (trying to do a jump I think) and we think maybe he had a slight concussion for a day or so. Danny! And yes, I did try wake boarding too. I'm not the dare devil, nor am I athletically inclined, but I gave it a try. I was able to get up off the boom, but seriously it hurt my hands soo bad. I ended up with a huge blister. Later I tried plain old water skiing from the back of the boat and that was much easier for me.

Thank you Brian and Gayle for an amazing time in MI. What a great vacation this was!!
