Maddie's Starting First Grade!

Here's Maddie on her first day of school (couldn't get the picture to face the right way, sorry! She was more than excited, especially since she got to eat lunch at school. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Howard and she's been teaching 1st for a couple of years and then kindergarted before that. I've come to decide that I really like her and she seems to be doing a good job.


Oh, another thing Maddie was so looking forward to was homework. I know...I'll remind here years from now that she said that. It took a couple of weeks before the homework started, and boy was it hard for her to wait. But here she is doing a sheet of homework. I'm already seeing that her printing is getting a whole lot neater than it was in Kindergarten. Maddie tells me, "In first grade, neatness counts!"





















This was the amazing day that Maddie lost her second tooth. It has been SO loose for a while now. It was making me queasy to watch her wiggle it with her tongue (which she loved to torture me with). Finally we had our neighbor Laura pull it out for us. Now there is a huge gap in Maddie's smile......simply adorable!
