Maddie's Science Fair

These pictures are from Maddie's science fair project at school. Participation in the fair is optional - it was held on a evening. Maddie came home from school saying, "Mom, I really, really want to be in the science fair." To which I responded, "I don't know Maddie. Maybe we should wait and do it next year." Laziness? Maybe. Anyways, she convinced me that we should do it and we did. Her project was watching water absorption through flowers. It turned out really well. She did a lot of work on it. I printed out papers for the display with titles on them, but she did all the writing herself. We were all really proud of the end results. Tuesday afternoon we set it up at her school gym (turns out there were a gym-full of participants). Then that evening, we went to the fair to see all the projects. Maddie had fun meeting up with her classmates to see their projects and show them hers. Then each kid got to go on stage and get a medal for their work and we ended the evening with cake for all. So, my final thought - it was a lot of work, but worth it. And yes, we will do it again next year!
